Archbishop Viganò previously warned Catholics on the historic spiritual importance of this 2020 election on the future of this country and this planet.

My husband and I went to a theme park recently. As we entered the park, we were reminded again and again—while outside in the fresh air–to keep our masks on. This was not because the park officials agreed with the mask mandate, but because they were forced to comply with it, or be shut down.
That is called coercion and blackmail. And it is happening all across our nation. Businesses are not the only targets of these threats. Medical practitioners have been some of the hardest hit. I wrote about my friend’s daughter who needed a medical procedure this spring. Originally, she was told that she did not need to be tested for COVID before she could enter the medical facility. The next day, she was told she had to be tested or treatment would not be given. When she questioned the practitioner, his response was, “This isn’t coming from us. We don’t agree with it. We are simply forced to comply or be shut down.”

On this first Sunday of Advent, the Gospel reading points us to the Second Coming of Jesus. Before delving into the Incarnation — Jesus’ First Coming — we look at His return.

Since we don’t know which day the Lord will come, we must stay awake and aware, always striving to live our lives in a state of grace. Each of us has a choice to make, a choice with eternal consequences, a choice with or without Jesus. No one can make the decision for us.

And it’s not just a one-time decision. Each day we are to renew our love and trust in Him. Are we serving Him now with our thoughts and actions? Do we seek His will, His plans and purposes, to be accomplished in us throughout the day?

While a segment of the patriot community are thrilled to hear the announcement of presidential candidacy from President Trump last night, others are disappointed and upset. Given the hype leading up to the Mar-a-Lago event, many were expecting something more definitive concerning his unseen role in the war against the Deep State. Even Trump himself seemed somber and somewhat disheartened as he gave his speech.  Though far from a concession of 2020, his demeanor and language seem to reveal other considerations that may have gone into this announcement.
