“Evangelicals for Harris released a video montage today, capturing a groundswell of support within the evangelical community and challenging preconceived notions about this influential voting bloc. The video, a compilation of heartfelt social media posts, reveals a community drawn together not by party lines but by a shared commitment to love, inclusion, and Jesus’ teachings.” 

“Viewers share personal stories of feeling seen, heard, and encouraged by the organization’s commitment to a more inclusive and compassionate expression of faith. ‘This is what being a believer in our Lord Jesus Christ is all about,’ reads one tweet. ‘Love thy neighbor as thyself.’ Another commenter shares, ‘Thank you for saying this so much. A lot of us have left the Church due to the hate it’s been preaching. Your group is uplifting.’”

 “These messages, and countless others like them, highlight a longing for a different kind of evangelicalism – one that prioritizes love over division, grace over judgment, and hope over fear.” 

So, let’s weigh their mission statement to see what kind of message they’re actually sending. Is “love and inclusion” the primary message of the gospel? Is Jesus’ definition of love focused solely on including everyone so they feel valued and respected? Or is there more?
