Know Your Enemy

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12 ESV
 
This verse makes it clear that our enemy is a spiritual one from the kingdom of darkness. As the above verse points out, there are different levels or ranks of authority in that kingdom, just like in the Kingdom of God and in earthly armies.

Low-level ranked enemies easily control non-believers and even immature Christians. Spiritual maturity isn't based on the number of years you have been a Christian, but on your knowledge of the Word of God and your understanding of your identity in His kingdom. When we know who we are in Christ and our calling in His kingdom, we are a much greater threat to the enemy. There will be greater forces needed in an attack on such a believer compared to the forces needed to attack a young believer or a non-believer. 

Have you ever noticed that the enemy tries to target a person's calling? For public leaders and pastors, whether in the church or in secular settings, their character is always tested, often with sexual or financial temptations, as that will limit their effectiveness or completely remove them from that position of influence. 

For those whose calling depends on their voice, then often a serious illness will affect the throat or mouth area, sometimes ending in death.

Karen is a bold voice for justice. It often begins with her seeing something in the natural or God speaking something to her. She has eyes to see what God is exposing, and He knows she will be bold and tenacious to deal with it in the spiritual and natural realms.. Recently, a strange eye virus struck her a second time in a couple of years. It caused her eye to be super painful. She couldn't even open her eye for a couple of days. The only medicine available was extremely expensive. This attack hit her physical ability to see and sleep due to the pain as well as the financial hit due to the price of the medicine.

But more importantly, that attack on her eye mirrored the area of her spiritual calling related to "seeing" into the spirit realm. Perhaps you have experienced an attack, usually something bizarre or out of the blue, that manifests in the physical, but is just as much an indicator of an attack against your call/gift. 

A common attack we have had against us for several years is with our electronics, internet, email, computers, phones, and software. We use these tools to alert the Body of Christ to major spiritual battle issues and natural concerns. The enemy, whether through spiritual forces or through natural enemies, who hate Karen for speaking truth, have resulted in weird and uncommon issues that have hindered our progress and leave IT professionals bewildered at times. Of course, the enemy tries to hit our source of finances too, as that affects all areas of ministry as well. That is why we pray regularly over those who stand with us in prayer and giving. We know how the devil tries to cripple our ability to give and function and we don't want you constantly dealing with it in your life as well. 

As this ministry and our calling is to impact our nation and other parts of the world, God has always brought together an army of believers to support that calling in prayer and financial support. We are so thankful for those who help us to advance God's purposes.

We share the above, so that you can better see how the enemy works and to know how to stand against similar attacks in your family.

3 Important Facts!
1. We must know that we are in a war and who the real enemy is. 

2. We must recognize the enemy's schemes and how to defeat them.
3. We should be on the offensive more than we are on the defensive. If we find ourselves on the defense more than offense, then either we don't know our enemy or we are not engaged in the battle as we should be.

1. Continue to pray over our elections and election integrity. Pray strong in the Spirit as if you expect there to be cheating as that is what the enemy does. He steals, kills, and destroys if we let him. Bind the strongman and take back all that he has stolen! Be on the offensive in your prayers and actions. In Oklahoma, we have an election next Tuesday, 8/27. 

2. Thanks for praying for our family last week regarding our daughter's custody arrangement. It didn't go as we hoped, but we know God will continue to work all things for our good and will restore what the devil has stolen!
