However, all the the material being taught tomorrow will be unique, with a focus on organization-building. If you want to learn how to fundraise, how to grow your organization list, how to engage your membership and mobilize them for political victory – whether an election or a legislative project – this is the school for you.
Here are the free materials you can watch right now:
How to Read and Write Legislation (65 minute video)
Everything About Precinct Delegates You Could Possibly Want to Know (90 minute video)
How to Run Effective Political Meetings (45 minute video)
Candidate Recruitment and Vetting (56 minute video)
The Real Nature of Politics and Politicians (89 minute interview)
The Biggest Lie in Politics (11 minute video)
How to Develop a Legislative Project (43 minute video)
How John Reilly Organized His Township and Became State Representative (71 minute interview)
Those are free materials, but the things we will be discussing tomorrow are the secrets to politics you will never see in a Rescue Michigan video. Things like:
• How to Start an Organization from Absolutely Nothing
• How to Grow Your Email List
• How to Fundraise
• How to Choose Legislative Targets
• How to Pass and Defeat Legislation
• How to Recruit, Train, and Retain More Leaders
The school is tomorrow from 9am to 5pm, so this is your last chance to register!
You can also register for the March 5th school in Livonia if that time and place is more convenient for you.
For those of you who are not near the metro Detroit area, if you wish to schedule a school in your area, we will be happy to schedule a school in your area if you can guarantee at least 20 people will attend.
One more reminder: The Rescue Michigan Coalition is building a legislative response team.
We're calling it "Operation Watchdog."
The Michigan Legislature has 43 standing committees - and the Appropriations committees have numerous subcommittees.
It's too much for anyone to monitor every committee, but with a team of volunteers, we can divide up the work and monitor everything that's going on in Lansing.
For example, a bill last year slipped under our radar and was signed into law last year to give the electric monopolies a new, additional monopoly over transmission lines. Senate Bill 103 – which is now law – gives utility companies right of first refusal on transmission projects, which allows those companies to lock in monopoly control over utility line construction and maintenance. (See how your State Rep voted here and how your State Senator voted here.)
We need your help to put the spotlight on all legislation moving in Lansing.
If you want to take part in this exciting project, simply reply to this email and I'll send you an invitation to our first planning meeting (online).
Even if you're new to reading legislation, we will help show you the basics and answer any questions you may have.
Thanks again for all you do for Liberty,
Adam de Angeli
