More With Us Than With Them
When Elisha's enemies surrounded the city that he was in, he told his panicked servant that there are more with us than with them. Then the servant's eyes were opened to see the army of angels surrounding the enemy army that had come against them. (See 2 Kings 6)
With Halloween this week and its demonic activities intensifying around us, we would do well to remember Elisha's words. There are more with us than with them. As believers, we are seated with Christ in the heavenly throne room to rule and reign on this earth NOW. We have the full authority of heaven backing us. With the Spirit guiding us, we are to bind and loose, knowing that our prayers/declarations are effective.
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:29 NIV
“Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." Matthew 18:18 NIV
Especially during this time of year, satanists, witches, and others in the occult, are very, very active casting spells and wreaking destruction on their targets using the demonic powers they are connected to. A former witch shared that during this time, the separation between natural and spirit worlds is believed to be the thinnest. It is the time of year that their power seems to be the greatest or most effective. It means it is imperative that we pray God's protection over our children, families and cities from occultic activity.
DO WE TRULY BELIEVE?
These demonically influenced people believe in their powers. They know they can affect others and sometimes destroy them.
Do Christians today truly believe they can affect others for good through their prayers and decrees?
Are churches today actually training the believers to be strong in the Lord, and how to walk in their authority here on earth (as it is in heaven)? Not really.
Thankfully, the Word of God speaks clearly of our identity in Christ and our position as co-rulers with Him and the authority that comes with our position. As representatives of our Father's kingdom, we are to change our environment / realm around us to be like His heavenly realm. Darkness defeated with all its effects. His increasing glory being revealed to bring His justice and righteousness on earth as it is in heaven.
WISE AS SERPENTS?
One problem is that we are not being wise as serpents as Jesus told us to be. We live as if the enemy is not real or active. We don't know how to think strategically. We often only respond defensively when we are hit with a challenge in life, rather than walking in our authority.
We should be thinking like a military commander, who has much experience on the battlefield. Who has studied warfare and knows the enemy. We should always be alert and thinking ahead of anything the enemy might try to do. This is how we should live each day. The enemy is always active. We should be more active in binding the weapons of darkness as we pray Ps. 91 and the Word over our family, those around us, our pastors, our school leaders and teachers, government leaders, etc. We should be loosing God's love, peace, joy, truth, etc. over our families, leaders, neighborhood, military personnel, first responders, etc. regularly, knowing the enemy never sleeps.
Until the Lord calls us home, every Christian should be standing strong in prayer for family members and any other areas that the enemy would want to attack.
Ask Holy Spirit to reveal the enemy's strategies and you strike first while at the same time ensuring your defenses are strong with no gaps in the walls.
