The Debate

There has never been such a consequential debate in American history, and the effect is already profound. Trump had perhaps his best performance in any debate, while Biden had the worst performance in the history of debates. His cognitive decline was obvious to all, and it is serious. Across the spectrum of politics in America, from the extreme left to the extreme right, there were calls for Biden’s removal from office, and for him to surrender his nomination to run for another term as president.

Not only was the degree of Biden’s mental decline shocking, and frightening considering the office he holds, but it exposed for all to see the level of lying by the White House and Democratic Party insiders. This not only doomed any chance Biden had to be re-elected, but it has the potential to doom the Democratic Party.

The White House and Democratic Party had a chance to come clean, and start telling the truth about Biden. Instead they seem to have decided to double down on the deceit. The American people are not as stupid as they obviously think they are, and this could actually doom the Democratic Party. The infighting, backbiting, and blame-shifting is just beginning, and is already tearing the Democratic Party further apart, but for some to begin a narrative that attempts to get the world to un-see what it very clearly saw, is making matters much worse. The way things are now going there may not be a Democratic Party convention because Democrats are going to be too embarrassed to admit they’re Democrats and show up.

If Republicans are smart they will not gloat over this meltdown. It is a good thing because the Democratic Party has been taken over by the far-left, and Biden’s policies, especially on the border, economy, crime control (or lack of it), and the woke agenda, have set up America for a number of life-threatening crises. This madness had to stop, and it looks like it has come to a screeching halt right at the edge of the cliff. We may yet be saved.

That is certainly a good thing, but the negative is that for an eagle to fly it must have a right and left wing. If the weight moves to the extreme end of either wing it still can’t fly, and that’s what happened to the Democratic Party, but there does need to be a counter-balancing force if we are going to have political parties, which we don’t have to have. Perhaps this is the time to take George Washington’s vehement warning against political parties lest we come to the disastrous state that we have now come to. President Washington argued that we should be able to debate any issue as simply Americans, but political parties would ultimately supplant people’s allegiance to the nation as a whole, and make every debate on every issue excessively shrill, and dangerous.

          So, what can we do?

First, let’s consider a bit more the terrible place the Democratic Party finds itself in. To keep Biden as the Democratic nominee could be considered elder abuse. To keep him as President until the election is a threat to the country. Then, his speech after the Supreme Court decision on Presidential Immunity was so far out of bounds with extremes and fear mongering that violence is likely. With his weaponizing the DOJ, FBI, and virtually every other government agency, and now attacking the Supreme Court as “a threat to democracy,” he made it very clear just how much he, and the extreme left that is in control, are actually the biggest threat to the Republic. They cannot win another term, and every day, and in virtually every way, they are making it more impossible for themselves.

Supreme Court Rulings

Everyone has had problems with Supreme Court decisions in the past, and they have made some very bad ones. Their previous ruling that gave bureaucratic agency rules and codes the force of law, was a violation of the Constitution and the separation powers. The Constitution is clear that only congress can make laws. Their recent decision began to correct that terrible decision that instantly gave hundreds of thousands of codes and regulations the force of law, making it possible that every American is guilty of many of them and did not even know it. Their recent decision on this brilliantly at least began to correct this.

Then this Supreme Court may have very courageously saved our Constitution with their wise decision on Presidential Immunity. By this they have given us more time to save our Republic from the extremists who are very close to provoking a meltdown into the worst violence a nation can suffer—a civil war.

We cannot expect any Supreme Court decision to be perfect, just as we cannot expect any law to be, because they’re all made by imperfect human beings. But some have consequences that are unforeseen, and very dangerous. I’m thankful this Court had the courage to make the decisions they made this week, even though there are still things that we can argue about.

The Election

Trump is more likely than ever to win now. The way the Democrats are reacting to the setbacks they’ve suffered is making it increasingly unlikely that they could ever unify the way the need to. Then they would still need to win back the trust of the American people enough to even have a chance of winning. Remember P-A-C (People Are Crazy). We should have learned by now to expect the crazy, the bizarre, and the completely unhinged behavior of some, so don’t let your guard down, or slack off one bit just because the other side is destroying itself.

We need to fight even harder now for truth, reason, what is right and just. To govern ourselves we must resolve to have the highest standards of credibility and accountability from those who we would have in government. In a Republic, We The People are the sovereign, and we must never again surrender our authority and responsibility to those who work for us.

Our Republic is in the most dangerous place it has been in since the Civil War. We are also in possibly the greatest place to get things back on track, and make them better and stronger than ever. Which it will be depends on us. We can do this if we do not become complacent again.
