36 years ago, sometime in 1988, I (Kevin) felt God's call to serve as a missionary in China. In 1989, I was preparing to be an English teacher in a university in China, as my open door to live and work there. I was scheduled to leave for China with several other new missionary/teachers in August of 1989.  Karen and I were not married yet. Halfway through my first year there, we were engaged and planned a summer wedding in 1990 so she could join me at the start of the next school year. 

As I was preparing to go in the spring of '89, China was in the news all over the world, as students began protesting for democracy. Demonstrations were happening all over China, but this movement's epicenter was in Beijing's Tiananmen Square, where up to 1.2 million demonstrators eventually gathered. Among these young intellectuals, there was great hope for reform in their government. But in the government, the leadership was divided. Eventually, the hardliners in the Party leadership made the decision to crush these demonstrations in order to maintain the Party's control.

In the early morning hours of June 4, 1989, the Chinese army moved in killing over 10,000 demonstrators and civilians. Earlier figures were estimated to be several hundred to a few thousand casualties, but when U.K. Ambassador to China's communications from June 5, 1989 were unclassified and released to the public in 2017, it revealed the much higher figure based on his sources inside the Chinese government. The official number according to China's government is less than 300 died, most of them soldiers.

Any memorial or discussions of the Tiananmen massare are forbidden in China and now Hong Kong. 

Our articles today reveal China's censorship of this tragedy, helps us see the forgotten victims in China who are still suffering, and the families of the victims who still cry out for accountability for the Chinese government.

1. Father God, we remember those who have or are suffering under the hand of injustice. Lord, you see and know all things. Many suffer for their faith in you or their conviction for truth & righteousness. Minister to those who are currently suffering injustice in China. Help them to know you are with them and you care. Open their eyes to see you. Give them hope, Lord. The families and friends of those who have lost loved ones, help them to know you as a result of their broken hearts. Heal their hearts. Restore them as only you can Lord with your peace & joy. 

2. Lord, you said that what we bind on earth is bound and what we loose on earth is loosed. In the name of Jesus, in areas and nations where injustice abounds, we bind the spirits of darkness so that they are ineffective in their work. We loose the spirit of justice to reign over these places instead. Holy Spirit, you reign over these places. Your kingdom come and Your will be done Father on earth as it is in heaven. Powers of darkness, fall now, in Jesus' name. Spirit of love and light shine brightly now. 

3. Lord, show us better how to pray AND what we should be doing to be your ambassadors on this earth. What specifically do you want each of us to do to bring Your kingdom down to this earth. We know when we bring your kingdom, that lives are changed forever. Culture and society are transformed. Here we are Lord, send us wherever you want us to be, to do whatever you want us to do, for your glory. We don't pray to come and take us home yet, Lord. We pray, come now Lord, to save and set free so many more souls through us. Change us so we will be your vessel for your glory and for your will to be done. 

Why They Needed to Charge Trump with a Felony!
 

It was imperative for them to charge Donald Trump with a felony--which they now have. It didn't matter how ridiculous the charge, or the fact that it could easily be overturned by an appellate court. They just needed it in place in time for the Republican National Convention.

Remember, the most important thing we can do is pray. Fervently. What we do now determines America's future, which means our children's future. It is urgent we pray the Word and refuse to give up.
