It Is Time for the Prodigals to Come Home!
Do you have children and loved ones who have strayed from the Lord or are not as strong in the Lord as they should be? Most do. Recently, we have felt the need to become more intent on praying over our children and other family members. First and foremost, regarding their relationship with God. But also for our family to grow in greater unity and love for each other.

When we have adult children leading their own lives, our role as parents changes. We give advice when asked and can no longer control who their friends are or where they go. Our greatest role is in prayer. For those who are concerned with the direction their children are going spiritually, remember as their parents we still have spiritual authority to influence what is influencing them.

When we bind the spirits of darkness that are influencing them, then we are helping to control the effect of those negative influences on them. It is easier for them to make the right choices when we are taking authority over the spirits of darkness working to influence them.

Be encouraged that no matter how old your children are, as their parents, we still have spiritual authority as the head of our families. Don't think of the modern "nuclear" family, think of your family more like the days of the Bible, when the family stayed as a unit. Where they still honored and respected parents and grandparents as the overall head of the "tribe".

We believe that is the same in the spirit realm. We aren't to try to control our adult kids, but we are certainly supposed to stand in our spiritual authority over any and all work of the enemy who is trying to steal, kill, and destroy them.

1 John 4:4 ...Greater is He (God) in you, than he (Satan) that is in the world.

If you have given up, or grown weary, we encourage you to step back into the spiritual fight with that spiritual authority as their parents and grandparents. Stand in that authority and stop the enemy from manipulating and destroying your family. 

You May See Some Backlash
Don't be surprised if when you start to walk in your spiritual authority to pray over your family if you encounter some backlash. You see, the spiritual forces may try to test your authority to see if you will truly stand. We certainly saw this recently with 2 of our 3 kids. As we began to focus more scriptural prayer over our kids, we saw some negative reaction in the natural. That's OK. We know we are right over the target in our prayers for them. Remember it's darkest before the dawn. Don't give up or back down. Intensify all the more as needed.

Be Effective by Praying the Scriptures, Led by the Spirit
James 5:15 The effective prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Make sure you are praying the scriptures over your kids and any other prodigals. God promises to perform His Word as we speak it forth in faith. Many scriptures pertain to families being blessed and saved. Also, ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to specific verses to pray as needed. Just as every lock has a specific key, the Lord will show you specific scriptures to pray or actions to take that are the keys to unlocking the answer needed for each particular need and child. 

Don't Lose Heart, Stay Persistent
Galatians 6:9, NASB  Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.

Don't give up. Stand strong in your position of authority, praying the Word and being led by the Spirit.
